Charlie Puth's third studio album, CHARLIE, gives fans a chance to get a full picture of who he is both as an artist and as a person.

Puth has never shied away from his personality, with previous tracks like "See You Again" (2015) and "We Don't Talk" (2016)

In an episode of the  Rolling Stone Music Now music podcast, Puth said that "CHARLIE" was born out of two breakups. 

one has a long-term girlfriend and the other a long-term business partner 

Puth also used the popular social media app TikTok to not only promote the album 

but gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the album by posting videos of himself in the studio.
