It’s pumpkin season, and that makes me extremely happy. I love everything pumpkin! Before I start my pumpkin pie baking marathon, I always make my own seasoning for pumpkin pie. Super easy recipe: you only need 5 minutes and 5 spices to create your own batch. Making your own is cheaper than buying a pot at the store. I bet you now have all the spices in your cupboard: ground cinnamon, ground ginger, nutmeg, five spices and ground cloves. All you have to do is put them together! I also like to make my own because I can make many smaller batches to help the seasonings retain their flavor.
Use this pumpkin pie spice to flavor your favorite fall pies, muffins, cookies, and cakes. You can also use it to spice up whipped cream, yogurt, latte, oatmeal, or roasted vegetables. It’s a great condiment to have on hand during the cold fall months.
Ingredients :- 3 tbsp. ground cinnamon 2 tbsp. grated ginger 2 tbsp. nutmeg 1 1/2 tsp. allspice soil 1 1/2 tsp. ground cloves
Preparation :- Beat cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, all pepper and cloves in a small bowl until well blended. Store in a jar or small container.
You can also give it as a gift! I like to put the spice mix in a nice jar and give it to the neighbors. I usually include a pumpkin chocolate chip loaf. It’s always fun to share the pumpkin love!
